About Mr. Essary
Mr. Essary is married and has 2 children living at home. Anna has graduated high school and works at McDonalds in Bonham. Matthew is in 8th grade and very much into computers and video. Currently, Matthew is attending Whitewright Middle School, but is hoping to make the move to Sam Rayburn.
Mr. Essary grew up in deep south Texas, right on Falcon Lake. After graduating from Zapata High School, he attended University of Texas Pan American and Texas Tech University, graduating from TTU in Spring 1995 with a dual Bachelor degree in English and Spanish and certifications to teach both. He taught his first three years in 2nd and 3rd grade bilingual in east TX. In 2001, he switched to teaching high school Spanish, and has taught middle and high school subjects ever since. In 2010, he earned his Masters in Education Administration with Principal Certification from Texas A&M-Commerce. He has almost completed a Masters of Science in Education Technology Leadership. Additionally, he has spent several years working in manufacturing, construction, and business - which experience he will bring to Sam Rayburn for the benefit of the students.
Mr. Essary's hobbies include: reading, computer updating repairing and rebuilding, playing around with YouTube, paracord crafts, wood working, and tinkering with an old 1939 Ford 9N tractor that he uses to work on the property at home. He occasionally also tinkers with electronic circuit building and some programming, as well as 3D printing and random plastics repairs..
